Please pardon our dust! The Eastern Market Corporation (EMC) is excited to announce that the Link Detroit Project has moved to new phases! This project links together extension of the Dequindre Cut through the Eastern Market and into Midtown via streetscape improvements and greenways. This project is also a great demonstration of a partnership between the City of Detroit and a number of other organizations that together secured a $10 million federal grant plus additional funding to improve the Eastern Market infrastructure and to provide more bicycle facilities in the City.
As of March 17, 2014, construction was underway in the (1) Dequindre Cut between Gratiot and Mack Avenues, (2) on the Adelaide Street and Division Street bridges (both are closed for traffic), (3) on Wilkins Street between the Dequindre Cut and Rivard Street, (4) on Russell Street between Alfred and Wilkins Streets, and (5) on the service drive between Russell and Market Streets (just south of parking lot 1). Work on Market Street between Winder and Division Streets will commence shortly.
Work on these segments is expected to be completed by Flower Day 2014 (May 18, 2014). For more details on the upcoming segments of the Link Detroit Projects, please download phasing plan map.
