Eastern Market Bridge Card Program

Use Your Bridge Card at Eastern Market!

In July of 2007, Eastern Market Corporation was approved to accept the EBT/Bridge Card on behalf of the farmers and vendors that sell from the market sheds. The Eastern Market Bridge Card Token Program officially began on July 14, 2007 and currently more than 80 farmers and vendors are participating in the program. Bridge Card holders can purchase specially designed metal tokens, with their Bridge Card and use them to purchase farm fresh produce, meat, baked goods and other items from the farmers and vendors. Tokens can be purchased at the Eastern Market Welcome Center, located at 1445 Adelaide (at Market Street) between Sheds 2 and 3 every Saturday, from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m and Tuesdays (July-October) from 11a.m. until 7 p.m.. They can also be purchased in the front of Shed 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays only. Each token has a value of one dollar ($1). The tokens are only good for food items purchased from Eastern Market authorized farmers and vendors. They cannot be used at neighboring businesses. Approved vendors proudly display a sign that says “Bridge Card Tokens Accepted Here.”
